Fear is the anticipation of the pain in the future. Anger is the remembrance of pain in the past. Hostility is wanting to get even. —Deepak Chopra
Anger is the remembrance of the pain we suffered.
Too often, that anger leads us to inflict more pain and suffering on others. And that pain will become even more anger.
And then more pain.
It's a never-ending spiral of destruction.
I observe everything unfolding in Gaza and in so many other parts of the world, and I see this spiral accelerating humanity towards destruction.
How can we break this cycle of pain and anger?
I have no idea.
But I'm reminded to take care of my own pain to let it pass through so it won't get stuck in my heart and fill it with anger.
