A Noticing
#2095

Everything ends. But that’s not a reason good enough not to start. Or not to get the best out of it until it’s going on.
I was talking with a friend about things happening around us and the fragility of life. And the question came up: What is it for?
Like, what’s the point of creating something, investing our time in improving our lives, if it ends in any case?
Yet, you’d never stop a journey only because it ends. On the contrary, you’d do your best to enjoy it as much as possible before it ends.
I’m not talking about happiness or pleasure. I’m talking about the deep inner joy of fulfillment that comes from doing something that makes you feel good and useful. That makes your presence matter. That sense of joy you can experience even in the midst of struggles.
And I’m not experiencing that as much as I would want.
This morning’s reflection is a reminder to myself. Not an arrival. A noticing.
