#1441 - how do they know?
Do these three, five or ten things, and you'll be happy, successful, healthy, wealthy or anything else you may be looking for.
Have you ever crossed a similar statement on social media?
I can't help but wonder, how do they know? How can they be so sure?
I can't deny my fascination for that kind of conviction. I've also tried some of those guaranteed recipes.
In vain, I must admit.
But maybe that's me; it's my fault. I don't believe or apply strongly enough.
People always seem so sure about everything.
But are they? Or is it just something they fake because, in the end, expertise sells?
I mean, if I want to buy something, in particular knowledge, I go to the expert. I look for people who know and exude confidence in their knowledge and abilities.
That may be why everyone seems an expert and shares certainties online. Ultimately, aren't social media a colossal shopping window on which we are all on display?
To be honest, I'm guilty too. I heard myself using expressions like "As we all know..." or sharing my perspective in the third person as if it were a universal truth. As if I knew for sure that what I was sharing was true.
Yet, I can only say with certainty, "I don't know".
