You can be both.
Happy and sad.
Confident and scared.
Excited and worried.
Elated and melancholic.
Angry and peaceful.
Confused and inspired.
Full and empty.
Messy and neat.
Here and there.
You can be both at the same time.
And I don't mean swaying between those apparent opposites.
I mean experiencing both these emotions fused together to the point that you cannot distinguish them whilst recognising them.
Sometimes, they are even more than two.
An intricate, multicoloured ball of yarn.
When it happens, the first instinct of my rational mind is to unravel it and separate all the threads so I can take care of them one by one.
But I've learned to resist the desire for order because that meltin' pot of emotions makes me feel so human and alive.
