#1420 - Authentic human conversations.
We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do. — Mahatma Gandhi.
We but mirror the world. And in that world, there is also technology and the machines. If we are worried about the impact technological advancements will have in our lives, it's because we don't trust ourselves in the first place. What we create and how we use it reflects who we are. If we see others as competitors or adversaries, we will focus on creating innovations that will give us an advantage over others, so we can win the game.
We don't trust artificial intelligence, or any other disruptive technology, because we don't trust each other. So, the place to focus if we want to be sure that innovations will positively impact the world is within ourselves. That is why I believe we need to work on our humanity to create better technologies. We need to create space for authentic human conversations. So we can rebuild trust in each other that will reflect in everything we do.
