#1406 - truth

Truth is what I seek.
My quest for truth is the driving force behind what I do.
Writing, reading, walking, mentoring, coaching, talking.
They are all part of this underline yearning for truth.
And I know it's an impossible and never-ending quest.
Yet, it's a worthy one.
If I'm lucky enough, I may find glimpses of my own truth, which would be a huge success. However, it's the quest that really matters to me. The journey, more than the destination, is what energizes me.
And sure, it's a tricky quest. It has no predefined path to follow, so I must create my own way while walking through it.
I maintain that truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever.
I've also learned that reading, studying and being exposed to the truth of others is essential. But the fundamental quest for truth is an inner journey of transformation. It's not about bringing the truth into my life; it's about opening myself to it through contemplation and wonder.
Truth cannot be brought down, rather the individual must make the effort to ascend to it.
I don't know how far I am, how long my journey will be and if I will ever find what I seek. I feel I'm moving with a precarious balance between the known and the unknown. Yet, it makes me feel alive.
A man who says he knows is already dead. But the man who thinks, "I don't know", who is discovering, finding out, who is not seeking an end, not thinking in terms of arriving or becoming - such a man is living, and that living is truth.
