#1403 - stick to them
What we achieve in our lives depends on many factors, of which many are partly or entirely outside our control. If we want different results, we must change some of those factors. Many move to a different environment for this reason. They hope that in a different environment, they could create different outcomes. And it often works.
As a matter of fact, we can act only on the factors we can control.
That's why some may decide to change their behaviours. That is noble but indeed not easy. Because our behaviours always follow our beliefs. They are just the tip of the iceberg.
So, if we are serious about changing our behaviours, we must first become aware of the beliefs driving them: the why beneath the how.
What do you believe about yourself, others or the world?
If we are serious about making a lasting change, we need to take the time to look into our beliefs. Uncovering the underneath beliefs, however, is not enough. Knowing what to do is not the same as doing what we know.
It's far more powerful to behave your way into a new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of behaving. — Robin Sharma
The most effective way to rewire your beliefs is to change what you do. Design new behaviours or habits that will challenge the beliefs you want to change. And then stick to them long enough until you prove to yourself that those beliefs were wrong.
