#1384 - How do I know?
Intuition is such an elusive thing.
Plato described it as a pre-existing knowledge residing in the "soul of eternity". For Descartes, this pre-existing knowledge is gained through rational reasoning or contemplation. In most religions, intuition is seen (or heard) as God's voice, the divine communicating with human beings.
It is often described as the ability to know something without knowing how you acquired that knowledge, to understand without reasoning. A moment of revelation: satori, eureka, or illumination.
We suddenly know or see something as if it comes from somewhere other than our thinking mind. We use expressions such as "gut feeling" or "feeling in our bones".
Thanks to my mentor Sujith, I recently came across a powerful revelation.
Intuition is the voice of my purpose.
It's my purpose asking to be fulfilled and giving hints on how to do it.
That's why, when I follow your intuition, I can't go wrong. I may struggle to understand it at the beginning, but later in life, when I look back, I can see that I've been following a path leading to fulfilling my purpose.
How do I recognize the voice of my purpose among the many others chatting in my mind?
How do I know that the voice that I hear is an intuition whispered by my purpose and not an automatic thought evoked by some conditionings?
How do I know?
I'd love to have the perfect recipe, but I don't.
I guess everyone has to find their own way.
And practice.
