#1336 - learning cycle
If you are familiar with learning theories, you probably know the famous learning cycle developed by David Kolb in 1984. I'm not getting into its details - there's plenty of material online - but I'd like to focus on the word "cycle".
Learning does not happen linearly.
Same thing for growing; it is not a linear journey.
Nature it's a great teacher of non-linear growth.
So, this morning I came up with my version of the learning and growing cycle, inspired by Kolb and my work on Subtraction.
When we want to learn something new, we start by collecting information directly through experience or indirectly from other sources. A linear approach would lead us to design new ideas or actions. Instead, we take the time to transform those data and knowledge into insights through subtraction. Then, from that unconditioned state, we can source new ideas and, only then, move into action acquiring the resources and skills we need to execute.
It's just a draft, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
