#1322 - You are your purpose
This sentence came up in my morning meditation: I am my purpose.
I was reflecting on something I read yesterday about purpose, and suddenly those words were there.
So, I stayed with them.
In nature, everything has a purpose.
We may not know it yet, but "the Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you," as Neil deGrasse Tyson says. If something doesn't serve a purpose, nature lets it go. It may take ages, but nature is not in a hurry like us.
So, purpose and identity are strongly interconnected in nature. Plants and animals are as they are to serve their purpose.
And because we are nature, it's probably the same for us.
To find or receive your purpose means to know who you are. You are the one pursuing that purpose. In the same way, if you know who you are, you also know why you are; your purpose.
And because you are what you do every day, by observing your choices, words and actions, you can have a glimpse at your purpose.
This realization, however, left me with a big question. What if I feel like there's a disconnection between my purpose and my identity? What if I believe I have a higher purpose, but my actions do not reflect it?
I am human. And that means I have layers of beliefs and conditioning standing between my pure self, where my purpose lies, and my manifested self.
That is why I continue to practise subtraction.
