#1320 - time
I've been thinking about time quite often lately. Maybe because I'm getting older. Or most probably for the things happening around me.
The other day I read this thought-provoking piece about the trap of time (sorry folks, it's in Italian, but a good translator will do).
And indeed, it made me think.
We are obsessed with time and the desire to control it. I also fall trap of the desire to manage my time efficiently.
Yet, it doesn't matter how much time you have and how much you will do in the time you have. It's all about your inner state.
All the time in the world may not suffice, and a second may be enough.
You can do plenty and feel that you still need time. Or do little and feel that it is enough.
External time is a fixed thing.
It is neither much nor little.
Neither earned nor wasted. Neither created nor consumed.
We cannot hold it, mould it or control it.
Somehow, time does not exist. What we have to deal with constantly is our subjective perspective of time. So, our relationship with time it's more of a relationship with ourselves.
I don't waste time; I waste my potential.
And when I don't have time for something, I'm just saying that thing is not essential for me.
Time is a measure.
It is a measure of my awareness.
