#1298- fighting a losing battle
What's the point of keeping fighting when clearly the battle is lost?
Have you ever found yourself fighting a losing battle?
One of those situations in which you know there is no chance of victory. Not even a remote one.
What do you do?
Do you keep fighting, or do you give up?
I read that the battle for 1.5 degrees of warming is already lost.
Sure, climate scientists are issuing the usual "now or never" ultimatums asking for bold actions that they know will never be taken.
So, I'm thinking about all the losing battles we find ourselves in.
And I wonder, why fight at all?
Is it worth fighting a battle that you know you cannot win?
My answer is yes.
Sometimes, it is worth it.
Some battles are worth fighting beyond victory and defeat. What truly matters is for our souls to go through the battle so we can reconnect with our essence. It's who we become through the battle more than its outcome that matters.
Take the battle for climate change.
We may think we are fighting to save Earth, but what we are really fighting for is our soul.
Your choices and actions won't make any difference in the big battle.
That one is lost.
But they will keep you aligned with your humanity.
