#1285 - show up no matter what.
Yesterday afternoon, while I was showering, I had an intuition. Nothing major, just s little moment of awareness. It often happens when I am going by with mindless routine stuff.
It is as if my mind, freed from the burden of managing what I am doing, can finally go to places usually closed or impossible to reach.
Ironically, while I have some good ideas while taking a shower or driving the car, often, when I sit down to write my morning post, I squeeze my brain, and nothing comes out.
Like this morning.
Over the years, I've learned to note down all the unexpected ideas that emerge. If I'm driving, I record myself. If I'm having a conversation, I jot down some keywords as memory hooks. And so on.
Yesterday, after the shower, I opened the laptop to fix a few notes to use that idea for one of my morning posts.
Unfortunately or fortunately, I got caught up in that small idea and ended up writing a whole piece.
So, this morning I was left with nothing to write about.
It happens.
We can't always be inspired.
What I've learned, however, is that I need to show up no matter what.
If I wait to be inspired and motivated before doing what I want to do, there's a high chance I will do nothing.
That's the power of creative habit.
You make yourself available so inspiration knows where to find you when something is to be shared with the world.
