#1265 - One little step.
Have you ever felt stuck or lost in confusion? With your thoughts clouded, so you can't see any way forward? Do you ever wake up with your energy depleted, maybe because you are sick, struggling to decide what to do with your day?
I do. Not so often, but still more frequently than I would.
When I'm in that place, trying to figure out the way forward is pointless and quickly becomes a source of frustration and guilt. Going back to my long list of tasks to complete doesn't help either. Most of the time, I became even more stuck trying to discern my priorities.
However, doing nothing isn't a suitable option. The feeling of wasting time quickly kicks in, making things worst.
I have learned that when I am in that place, one little step is all I can do, but it is also all I need to do. Whatever little step. I must be small enough to do it, even with my low energy. And it doesn't have to have any specific meaning or move me forward with any particular goal. It's just about getting out of the pit.
Usually, a small gesture of self-care does like going to the cinema when I'm stuck and unable to make progress with my work.
