#1241 - readiness
I often ask myself about what I want. Wanting something is indeed a great starting point to begin a journey.
However, despite my wants, I learned that nothing rarely happens until it is not ready to happen.
And this readiness is as much about me as it is about the universe.
The first one is pretty obvious. If I am not ready to make something happen, it most probably won't.
I may not be ready in terms of skills. In that case, I need to acquire the skills I need. Or may not be ready inside. There may be invisible obstacles in the form of beliefs or conditionings holding me back from taking the steps that need to be taken.
If I am not ready, it won't happen.
And even if I feel ready but the universe is not, there are high chances I won't see the expected results. It may look like there's nothing I can do about the readiness of the universe, but that's not true.
First, I must learn to pay attention to recognising when the universe is ready by noticing its signals. Second, I can create the possibility or, as Werner Erhard wrote, I can become the possibility for something to happen. And that makes the space for the universe to be ready.
Suddenly, almost at the end of my writing practice, I remember a quote from one of my favourite books, Do the work by Steven Pressfield.
"Don't' prepare. Begin. Start before you're ready."
I can feel the power of these words while I write them.
And now what?
Am I overthinking it again with this idea of readiness? Is it just a way to justify my lack of courage and initiative to myself?
I am trapped in a powerful dilemma (as my dear friend Vanessa would call it). Yet, I feel there is magic in this paradox.
If I start before I'm ready but focus on the journey more than on the final outcome, one day, I'll be ready, and that's when the result will manifest.
