#1303 - do something
I admire the people who can sit down in silence and fully present to what is. Despite my effort, I haven't been able to get into that inner space yet.
Not through stillness and silence, at least.
My mind is a wanderer.
Maybe I should just fully accept its nature and embrace it.
My mind just loves to go places, to explore the past and the future, sometimes together.
I can find peace, presence and focus inside, but I must be doing something. As I wrote here over two years ago.
See, I did it again. I flew back in the past.
Weirdly enough, my mind becomes quiet and observant when I go for a walk, drive, or sit in a public space like a train or a café. Or when I'm having an inspiring conversation or doing something creative, like writing.
In those moments, my mind becomes fully present.
If you struggle to meditate in stillness and silence, you are not alone.
Instead of doubling the effort, and the frustration, find something you love doing, something simple that doesn't require too much thinking but fully engages you, like walking, running, washing the dishes, or gardening. Whatever works for you. And make it a deliberate, mindful practice.
Let me know if it works.
