#1302 - It will get boring
You have a dream, vision or objective.
Something you want to create or achieve.
And you want it so much that you embark on a journey to realize it.
The yearning fuels your motivation, and you begin full of enthusiasm.
You give it all for your cause.
In the beginning, you feel you are flying. The first steps feel great.
But, like most things in life, visions take time.
Over time, every step forward requires a bit more energy, you come across the first setbacks, and your vision is not getting any closer.
Motivation and excitement fade.
It gets boring, and you start thinking that, maybe, it's not worth it.
Doubts sneak in.
Maybe, you don't really want so much to create or achieve that dream, vision or objective.
It is a sort of threshold.
Is your willpower strong enough to persevere?
For many, it's not.
Truth is, whatever you set out to achieve, at some point, it will get boring and tough. And there are high chances that your willpower won't be enough to push through.
I know, it doesn't sound very motivational.
If you are looking for that, there are plenty of beautiful motivational quotes on social media.
My experience is that you need to create a structure and build the discipline to stay with the required work even when it gets boring. And the best moment to do it is right at the beginning when the motivation and the energy are high. Use that initial flame to create your supporting structures, rituals and practices to sustain your journey.
And leave your willpower to other tasks.
